South Ayrshire is known as Scotland’s golf coast. This beautiful coastline boasts the home of The Open , two of five current Scottish venues and a range of courses each with their own unique character.

Ayrshire has one of the best courses in Scotland, from testing championship Links to scenic Parks.
Turnberry and Troon are the most famous courses in Ayrshire with them hosting the Open and Seniors Open.
Old Prestwick is another world renowned Links course as the first ever Open was played there when the tournament began in 1860.
Western Gailes and Irvine Golf Club are testing Links courses in Ayrshire used for Open golf qualifying.
Other amazing courses in Ayrshire are St Nicholas in Prestwick, Kilmarnock Barassie/Troon, Glasgow Gailes/Irvine, West Kilbride/Seamill and Loch Green & Darley/Troon.
Golf courses in Ayrshire attract visitors from all over the world. Belleisle on the south of Ayr is very popular with its glorious setting and location.
Other fine courses that attract numerous visitors are Ballochmyle, Loudoun, Annanhill and Largs.
New for 2008 is the Colin Montgomery designed Rowallan Golf Course. This course is set in Rowallan Estate north of Kilmarnock.
